Two Kinds Of Solar Panels

There are actually two major kinds of solar panels namely the traditional photovoltaic panel and second type is the thin film panel. When people hear the terms solar power, they would immediately think of PV panels or photovoltaic panels. These are the panels that could be mounted on posts either on the roof or on the ground. These are more often than not fairly large, a bit bulky, and can even be considered as somewhat unsightly.

These solar panels convert sunlight into energy by using the chemical element silicon plus other materials. When the sun is shining brightly, solar energy is constantly being generated. On the other hand, once the sun is going down, the solar power system would be required to draw off certain forms of storing energy like those of batteries.

Photovoltaic or PV solar panels have long been established and has been proven effective. But nowadays, there are also numerous people who are realizing the benefits and advantages of the thin film panels too. These thin film panels are indeed extremely light and they are very flexible. These are constructed with really thin layers of a reactive material instead of just one thick layer. This type of panels could be directly installed into a house’s roof tiling, thereby eliminating the need for some bulky mounts.
